project overview

Elevator Event is an interactive projection installation that stages the illusion of escape within the flow of the city. Participants enter an elevator-like environment where movement and presence trigger the sensation of ascent and departure from the surrounding crowd. Yet no matter how long one stays, the system ultimately collapses into free-fall, revealing how contemporary life promises efficiency and progress while trapping the body inside cycles of acceleration, control, and inevitable descent.

The work treats the elevator as both interface and metaphor: a machine built for escape that instead exposes the fragility of human agency inside automated systems.
